Experience
What some of our visitors said about the fortress and the place of worship.

TouristI was pleasantly surprised by this fortress. I got there at opening time, so there were no visitors and I got to wander around (not really, it's a big circle). With a lot of history, this place is a not so well known treasure of Romania.

TouristAn extremely pleasant surprise. I didn't expect it to be so nice. The building is around 700 years old and in very good condition. The church is a beautiful example of gothic architecture and the fortification has 270 rooms and is one big maze.

TouristIt is very well preserved and very beautiful. It has a lot of potential if renovated. You can even climb the stairs for a great view from the top. The church inside has great architecture and can be visited. It is not very crowded, which gives you space for good photos.

Did you know that the fortress adopts a variety of art objects?
Besides the church, the chambers in the fortress walls and the museum you can discover true artistic objects such as the organ, bells, pews, pulpit and many others.
The altar dates back to 1804 and its central panel was painted by Friederich Miess. This painting is today on the west wall of the north aisle.
The old organ (without pedal) is on the west gallery. In 1676 a new organ for 65 fl. was purchased, then an organist was hired.
In 1916 during the First World War three bells were confiscated, replaced in 1923 by three bells cast in Apolda (Thuringia).
